Chapter 6 – Agathy Bourne – Design and Product Development
How long have you been with Fanattik and what does your job entail?
I've been here for over three years, and my job consists of handling all submissions from concept through to production with all the brands we work with. I then track internally where products are in development, so that the team knows where projects are up to. I work on product and packaging ideation and then manage technical drawings with the factories to create ranges for release.
Which brands that Fanattik work with are your favourites?
I LOVE Harry Potter and How to Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, I hold a special place in my heart for Banjo-Kazooie and Godzilla is a favourite as I got to work heavily on our Godzilla collection.
What's your favourite products that Fanattik have produced?
I love the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Train Ticket, the detail is just so intricate and it’s such a lovely piece of the films to add to a collection! We also have a new product that is due to be released to celebrate a certain Christmas movie's anniversary, which I am super excited about but can’t spill the beans just yet, you’ll have to keep your eyes out for our upcoming releases!
Away from Fanattik, what’s your favourite film/TV Show/video game/tabletop game?
Tabletop Game – Pictionary (I know it’s not technically a board game, but it feels like it is!)
Video Game – The original Lego Star Wars Saga on the PlayStation 2
TV Show – I literally cannot decide between Friends and Scrubs so it will have to be both!
Film – It is a toss-up between Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Cars, but I would be lying if I didn’t say that Twilight wasn’t also a top fave of mine! Also Monty Python & The Holy Grail.
Do you have any interesting geeky stories?
I was once working a comic con in Liverpool and spotted a couple dressed as Wirt and Greg from Over the Garden Wall and felt pure joy seeing their amazing costumes! It is nice to be surrounded by people who are unapologetically in love with pop culture and the movies/tv shows they enjoy!
